Naturally a free spirit, Beatriz (Bea) Abascal infuses calm energy, happiness and love into each practice.  Bea incorporates kindness, compassion and original self-expression throughout her teachings.  Leading a mindful, intelligent and therapeutic flow class, she allows for an abundant exploration that will take you within yourself.

As the daughter of Cuban immigrants, Bea’s devotion to family was always at the top of the list.  In 1997, however, Bea experienced a turning point after the sudden loss of her father, who had been an emotional cornerstone in her life. She came to realize that tapping into her deeper self would need to become a new priority.  It was then that Bea discovered The Yoga Studio and the teachings of Barbara Benagh.  Bea is grateful to Barbara for introducing her to the journey of practicing yoga in community and to the gift of a self-guided practice.  Bea practices with Barbara as often as life allows and continues learning from her style, humor and grace.

As a practitioner of traditional & contemporary styles of yoga for over a decade, Bea’s love of vinyasa flow led her to her 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certification through Prana Power Yoga in 2007.  Bea studied with Coeli Marsh as part of Teachers Study Project.  Bea is thankful to Coeli for her good will, encouragement in teaching, and mentoring.  Over the last decade Bea has also experienced wonderful teachings with Jacqui Bonwell, Claire Este-Mcdonald, Jene Rossi and most recently, Baxter Bell & Sarah Powers.

Through her lighthearted, mindful and nurturing style, Bea invites her students to come back to the present, living each moment in a world where anything is possible.  As the mother of two, Bea shares the goodness that yoga brings to her spirit with her family.  Mostly, yoga has taught her that sanity is simply a breath away.
